Trash

On each regularly scheduled collection day, Best Trash will collect residential refuse located at the curbside in resident provided containers between 30-50 gallons and/or bags up to 40 pounds each.

Excluded Items

Dirt, rocks, bricks, tile, concrete, tires, batteries, motor oil, cooking oil, sheetrock, insulation, waste generated by a private contractor, or any materials or items deemed hazardous materials.   Please do not dispose of gasoline, motor oil, paints, cooking oil, or any other liquid items in a container that are not visible to Best Trash personnel.  If such items result in spillage that causes a stain, Best Trash is not responsible for the cleanup.  Best Trash will leave a tag explaining the reason for any non-collected item(s).

Pruning and Yard Cleaning Season Guidelines: Landscaper Versus Homeowner Yard Waste

Pruning season is approaching, and we appreciate your help in keeping our community clean and safe. As a reminder, Best Trash does not collect contractor-generated trash. Landscapers must haul away their large volumes of yard debris generated during their cleanups. This is the only way Best Trash can continue to collect all household waste and complete their routes efficiently. Please follow these guidelines when preparing yard waste for disposal:

Branches & Trimmings
  • Branches must be no more than 4 inches in diameter and 4 feet in length.
  • All trimmings must be tied and bundled.
  • Each bundle should weigh no more than 40 pounds.
  • Best Trash will collect up to five tied bundles per collection day.
Bags of Leaves/Grass
  • Leaves must be placed in bags for pickup.
  • Bags should be securely tied and weigh no more than 40 pounds each.
  • Best Trash will collect up to 5 bags of leaves/grass per collection day (adjust this number if your community has a specific limit).
If You Use a Landscaper

If a landscaping service maintains your yard, please ensure they remove all trimmings and bagged leaves. This service is typically included in their fees.

Heavy Trash

Trees, shrubs, brush trimmings and fencing must be no larger than 4” inches in diameter, no more than 4’ feet long, tied in bundles not exceeding 40 pounds. (Please see picture below for reference) Tied bundles are required to allow quick pick up and size limitations are required to avoid damaging the equipment in the compacting process.  Please do not place tree limbs or lumber inside the trashcans.  Items such as appliances, furniture, mattresses, carpet (up to 1 room of carpet, cut less than 4 feet wide, tied in bundles not exceeding 40 pounds), will be picked up on both garbage collection days.  By Federal Law, refrigerators, freezers, and any other items containing Freon must be drained of Freon and have an accompanying bill to validate such service was performed.

Special Collection Service

For more than normal amounts of residential refuse, yard trimmings or bulk items, Best Trash does have the ability to provide a special collection service.  For pricing information, please email your district name, address, and several pictures of your items to customerservice@besttrashtexas.com.
