- Bookkeeping: Collection rates were reported at 89% as of January 10th, with the district being five months into the fiscal year.
- Bond & Budget Planning: A workshop was proposed to educate the board on bonds. The engineer suggested issuing a bond, and a community meeting was recommended for further discussion. Infrastructure & Maintenance
- Drainage & Detention Ponds: No unusual activity noted.
- San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA) Matters: It was noted that all MUD boards east of I-45 elected a representative for their area. Usually SJRA elects a representative with 30-40% of the vote, but a Director of MCMUD 089 secured about 80%. Discussions included the pumpage fee litigation.
- Engineer’s Report: Plans and draft documents for Water Plant No. 2 are nearly ready. The pedestrian bridge construction is pending final construction sheets, with advertising expected by May.
- Operator’s Report: January collections totaled $130K, with 9 million gallons of water consumed. An increase of resident involvement in the District’s ‘Eye on Water’ program was noted from the previous month. Water accountability stands at 96%.
